The seized meat at the Dimapur Municipal Council office premises today, September 29.
Dimapur, September 29 (MExN): Staff of Rate Control Cell, Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) conducted checking in various parts of the town this morning (Thursday) and penalized 12 butchers selling pork for violating the terms and conditions laid down by the DMC.
Butchers were found forcibly mixing intestines with the meat whereas the DMC had clearly directed the butcher to sell the intestines separately and that too in lesser price as to that of actual meat.
During the checking DMC booked five butchers at Super Market, two each at Nagarjan and Elora Line and one each at Railway Gate, Supply Colony and Dhobinala.
Seized meat was later released after the butchers were made to sign a bond agreement that they would not violate DMC directive in the days to come.
