KOHIMA, DECEMBER 5 (MExN): The Japanese musical troupe Drum Tao performed for the second time at Kohima Science College Jotsoma on December 4.
Earlier in the afternoon, the band held a short meet-and-greet with students outside the college campus. The group shared around 15 minutes with the students, during which they responded to a number of questions. When asked about places they hope to perform in the future, members of Drum Tao said they enjoy performing in Kohima. In response to a question about what brought them to the college, they said they were invited by the institute and were happy to accept the opportunity. The interaction ended with a photo session.
The performance began in the early evening. Drum Tao played the Taiko drums as the opening piece, followed by a set featuring instruments including shamisen, koto and flutes. The group delivered a 45-minute performance. During the meet-and-greet, the band said they aim to entertain audiences and are working to build a brand similar to Cirque de Soleil.
The Angami Students’ Union of KSCJ performed a folk song after Drum Tao’s set. This was followed by a folk dance from the Zeliang Students’ Union and a performance of Tati Li by the Chakhesang Students’ Union.
