DTF on Immunisation reviews surveillance and vaccination in Longleng

Longleng, December 4 (MExN): The District Task Force (DTF) on Immunisation convened on December 4 at the DPDB Hall, Longleng, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner W. Manpai Phom.

As per the State DIPR, during the meeting,  Dr Mohammad Abdul Haleem Azhar, Surveillance Medical Officer, National Public Health Surveillance (NPSE), Mokokchung, presented a comprehensive update on Acute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP) surveillance in Longleng District. 

He outlined strategies to strengthen Vaccine-Preventable Disease (VPD) surveillance and achieve Measles-Rubella (MR) elimination targets, including ensuring all blocks meet MKI and MR goals, regular feedback sharing with district and block officials, and conducting field visits in coordination with local authorities.

Dr Imtijungshi, UIP/RCH, delivered a report on Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination, highlighting its role in cervical cancer prevention and noting that the vaccine has been administered in 155 countries globally, demonstrating its safety and effectiveness.

In his concluding remarks, the Deputy Commissioner urged officials to ensure thorough ground-level preparation for smooth vaccination launches and higher coverage rates. He also acknowledged the district’s achievements in registering beneficiaries under CMHIS and Ayushman Bharat, and encouraged students to motivate their families and communities to enrol and avail government benefits.
All line departments participated in the meeting, the report added.
