DYRS Academy wins Nagaland Taekwondo Championship

The Department of Youth Resources & Sports (DYRS) Academy emerged the overall champions of 32nd Nagaland State Taekwondo Championship 2019 which concluded today under the aegis of Nagaland Taekwondo Association (NTA) here at Indira Gandhi Stadium.

DYRS Academy bagged a total of 27 medals with 22 gold, four silver and one bronze. 

Kohima District Taekwondo Association stood runner up with 32 medals (12 Gold, 12 silver and eight bronze).

Dimapur district figured in third place with 33 medals (11 gold, 13 silver and nine bronze).

Altogether, 161 participants from ten teams- Dimapur, Mon, Tuensang, Kiphire, Longlen, Peren, Kohima, Phek district and also one each from Department of YRS and Police department joined the meet.

NTA president Pele Khezhie handed over prize to the winners at the closing ceremony.
