Dzüvi Kro-u leads medal tally at KYO 50th anniversary celebration

Kohima, December 19 (MExN): The ongoing 50th-anniversary celebration of the Kiruphema Youth Organisation (KYO) at Kiruphema Ground has seen Dzüvi Kro-u dominating the medal tally as of December 19. Dzüvi Kro-u has secured 11 gold, 7 silver, and 1 bronze medal, maintaining a strong lead in the competition.

Noune Kro-u follows closely with 10 gold, 8 silver, and 8 bronze medals, while Kezie Kro-u has garnered 5 gold, 6 silver, and 7 bronze medals. Other group standings include Kezekevi Kro-u with 3 gold, 2 silver, and 4 bronze; Nourhe Kro-u with 1 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze; Kekhrie Kro-u with 1 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze; and Kenei Kro-u with 2 bronze medals.

The celebrations, featuring various athletic and sporting events, will continue until December 21.

Day 2 & 3 Results
In the men’s shotput, Medokhrielie Kin from Kezekevi emerged victorious, while Keneituno Vielie from Dzüvi clinched first place in the women’s category. Javelin throw winners included Zeneizolie Vielie (Dzüvi) for men and Kekhrievino Kruneilie (Kezie) for women.

In track events, Noune’s Vikedolie Zenyüu and Kepelhubino Vielie from Dzüvi excelled in the 400-meter races. Diethorovi Mor from Noune and Pezangunuo Hojha from Kezie claimed victories in the men’s and women’s 200-meter and 800-meter races, respectively.

Field events saw standout performances, including Rajoukolie Vielie (Kezekevi) and Keneitounuo Vielie (Dzüvi) in discus throw, and Rokoneizo Vielie (Noune) and Shürhovonuo Suohumvü (Dzüvi) in long jump. High jump winners included Zeneizolie Vielie (Dzüvi) for men and Shürhovono (Dzüvi) for women.

Team relay races were fiercely contested, with Noune Kro-u winning the men’s 4x100m relay and Kezie Kro-u triumphing in the women’s event.

In racket sports, Noune dominated the table tennis and badminton categories. Diethorovi Mor and Kethongukho Kruneilie won both the singles and doubles in men’s table tennis, while the badminton doubles were clinched by Kekhrieneikho Zhünyü and Dr. Rokolhoukho Sirie (Dzüvi).

Chess for men aged 45 and above saw Noune’s Megozokho Hesielie emerge as the champion, while Makolie Suosahie from Kenei secured second place.
