Dimapur, August 4 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) says its demand for the so-stated “frontier Nagaland” is “un-negotiable” and “uncompromisable”, implying that it had not endorsing the recommendation of the Nagaland Cabinet to form an autonomous council authority for the “eastern” region.
The ENPO is clarifying a news report in a local daily which purportedly stated the ENPO “welcoming” the state Cabinet’s recommendation. Seeking to clear “certain confusions” arising out of the publication, a note form the ENPO said today that the exchange was telephonic. “The conversation (supposed interview/query) has resulted in the misquotation where the undersigned has been misinterpreted and misrepresented…” stated the note, appended by ENPO president Mangko Phom.
The official press statement issued by the ENPO’s vice president and general secretary on July 29, 2011 is affirmed as the “official stand and position of the ENPO on behalf of the public” of “eastern Nagaland” for the demand of “frontier Nagaland state”. The demand is absolutely “un-negotiable” and “uncompromisable” as per the popular public demand and movement, the note added.
