ENPUD support DCCI’s stand on multiple taxation

DIMAPUR, MARCH 11 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Union, Dimapur (ENPUD) has supported the decision of Dimapur Chambers of Commerce & Industries (DCCI) to impose indefinite shutter-down in and around Dimapur if the unabated multiple taxation, intimidations and unaccounted summons of business establishment by various Naga Political group are not stopped.

“The menace of multiple taxations and harassment of business community has deeply affected every household, every individual and day to day livelihood activities of the poor people in particular and Dimapurians in general,” a press release issued by ENPUD president NT Thamlong Phom and general secretary Kumchuba Chang stated.

It lamented that the public is bearing all the burden of multiple taxations, and blamed the different Naga political groups for the inflation of prices of essentials and non-essentials commodities in Dimapur. 

The ENPUD has urged the different Naga political groups to address this serious issue for the welfare and betterment of the citizens of Dimapur as responsible entities and create a peaceful and business friendly environment so that the safety and security of the businessmen is guaranteed and the development and growth of Dimapur is ensured.

It also urged Dimapur based civil societies and organisations to support the DCCI in their endeavor to stop the menace of multiple taxations and harassment of business community so that Dimapur city grows as a business friendly hub in Nagaland and the neighboring states of North-East.
