ENPUM clarifies, withdraws circular on social media content

Mokokchung, September 24 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Union, Mokokchung (ENPUM) has clarified that a circular issued on September 18 titled “Public warning notice: Regarding Objectionable/Manipulated Content on Social Media” unfortunately created certain misunderstanding and concern among the general public.

In view of the circumstances, the ENPUM issued a clarification and withdrawal circular on September 21, stated ENPUM President Y Among Yim and General Secretary Nohochem Sangtam in a press release.

In consideration of the matter, a joint meeting was called by the Ao Senden on September 23 at the Aor Kilem. As called the ENPUM attended the meeting, and held a consultation with the concerned organization.

During the meeting, the ENPUM acknowledged its lapse in connection with the issuance of the circular. After lengthy and thorough deliberation, both parties, in a spirit of understanding, unity and reconciliation, concluded the matter in good faith and resolved to move forward together as brothers, following the good example and legacy of their forefathers.

The ENPUM also appealed to the general public that the misunderstanding arising from the matter was unfortunate and unintended. It requested everyone to put the matter to rest and continue to maintain peace, harmony and brotherhood in the larger interest and welfare of the people.
