Dimapur, August 6 (MExN): The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has demanded “immediate clarification” from the Editor of the Nagaland Post in regard to the news item published on July 31 in the newspaper, relating to the Government’s proposal of Autonomous Council to the Eastern Nagaland, wherein it was mentioned that “Quote: Various Apex Organizations of the four (4) Districts (ENPO Areas) were consulted prior to the proposal being placed before the State Cabinet”.
The ENSF in a rejoinder appended by its general secretary Changsang Soted stated the federation wants to know which Apex Organization(s) the Editor meant by mentioning “various Apex Organizations of the four Districts”, as ENSF had a series of consultative meeting with all the Apex Tribals’, Students’ and women Bodies of the Eastern Nagaland and “reasons to believe that the statement is not correct and is entirely wrong” as none of the apex organizations under ENPO jurisdiction – Tuensang, Mon, Kiphire and Longleng were consulted by any agencies (both government and private) but the State Cabinet had taken the decision at their own free will.
In this regard, the ENSF has demanded the Editor to clarify the statement and issue necessary corrigendum so as to clear the all misconception in the minds of the public.
Meanwhile, the Federation has directed all the Head of Department’s/Incharges/Officials (of all ranks) of all the Departments within ENSF jurisdiction viz. Tuensang, Mon, Kiphire and Longleng to be stationed in their respective places of posting, as ENSF is going to visit all the departments’ starting from August 16. “Any Head of Departments (HODs)/Incharges/Officials (of all ranks) of all Departments, found absent from the offices/their duties without any valid reasons shall be seriously dealt with from the Office of the ENSF,” it stated.
