ENSUD backs demand for keeping NPSC results in abeyance

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 19 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland Students' Union Dimapur (ENSUD) has stated that it was strongly supportive of the demand made by the Eastern Naga Students' Federation (ENSF) to Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) to keep in abeyance the appointment orders of the recently declared NCS, NPS, NSS & allied services examination 2010 since the 25% reservation policy given to the six tribe i.e Chang, Sangtam, Phom, Konyak, Khiamniungan and Yimchunger was not implemented.
According to a press note issued by ENSUD President P. Honko Luklem and General Secretary Setsipa Sangtam, the total reserved posts for the six tribes as per 25% job reservation should have been 16 out of the 64 posts but the Eastern Naga Tribes were allotted only 13 posts and were denied of three posts i.e. one EAC, one DSP and one non-gazette posts.
Therefore, the ENSUD demanded the NPSC to rectify the error at the earliest and implement the 25% reservation policy in letter & in spirit as per the directive of the ENSF. “The NPSC and the Govt. should take up the matter seriously without any delay so that justice is prevailed to our Eastern People”, the press note stated. “We have been deprived of our rights for decades but the Eastern people will no more be a mere spectator if our rights are not given to us. The ENSUD will fully back and support the initiative taken up by the ENSF to delivered us our rights”.
