ENSUD freshers day cum parting social celebrated

Dimapur, September 30 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union, Delhi (ENSUD) organized its 20th Freshers’ Day-cum-Parting Social on September 27 at Parish Hall, Immanuel Baptist Church with W. Wangyuh Konyak, former MP, Lok Sabha as the chief guest and Toshi Wangtung, general secretary, Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organization (ENPO) as the guest of honour.
A press note received here stated that the chief guest in his speech encouraged the students to prioritize their studies while also actively participating in issues and challenges with utmost wisdom.  He called upon the students to be an agent of change and transformation with a new era of leadership. As for them, he stated that their time of leadership have come to pass and is a closed chapter and therein lies huge responsibilities for the present generation.
The guest of honour emphasized on the inception of the Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union Delhi and the various phases that underwent within and outside the Union. While appreciating the present Executive Council for finally publishing the Constitution, he stated that it was the ‘Will of God’ for him to come back and released it of which they have pioneered and dreamed of. On the demand for ‘Frontier Nagaland’ Mr. Toshi Wangtung, reiterated that it was not against ‘Nagas Unity’ but it was a need for basic ‘Fundamental Rights’, it stated.
Further, he pointed out that this change is necessitated for people of Eastern Nagaland who have long been neglected economically and politically and therefore a mammoth disparity and gap with the other Nagas. In a similar vein, both Serangmong Sangtam and W. Chuba called for unity among the people of Eastern Nagaland and further encouraged the Student members to fulfill their goal and the dreams of their parents through their academic performances. The program also saw a cultural presentation from Delhi Ao Kaketshir Telongjem (DAKT) and finally ended with a vote of thanks by the Vice President, ENSUD and benediction by Sulila Anar.
