Peren Government College, Peren, successfully concluded the Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) Program on October 9.

PEREN, OCTOBER 9 (MExN): Peren Government College, Peren, today marked the successful conclusion of the Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) Program, an initiative of Startup Nagaland, Department of Industries and Commerce, supported by the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), and implemented by the Entrepreneur School of Business (ESB).
Peren Government College was one of the two pilot Entrepreneurship Development Centres (EDCs) established following the CSR Conclave. Launched in 2022, the three-year initiative aimed to foster an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset among students by integrating practical business training and startup-oriented learning within the academic environment.
Over the duration of the program, more than 140 students from Peren Government College received training in various aspects of entrepreneurship — including ideation, business planning, innovation, and enterprise creation. The outcome has seen many students pursuing professional opportunities and some even launching their own startups. The initiative sought to build capacity among the youth to become self-reliant and contribute to Nagaland’s growing startup ecosystem.
The concluding event was attended by the graduating EDP students, during which certificates of completion were distributed. The programme was graced by Dr T Jamedi Longkumer, Principal, Peren Government College, and Kughato Sema, General Manager, Department of Industries and Commerce, Peren, who congratulated the students and encouraged them to continue exploring innovative paths in entrepreneurship.
The successful completion of the Entrepreneurship Development Centre Program at Peren Government College marks a significant step towards embedding innovation and entrepreneurship within Nagaland’s higher education system. The Entrepreneur School of Business (ESB) also acknowledged the contributions of IDAN and Startup Nagaland for empowering college students through the EDCs.
