Jakhama, April 23 (MExN): St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Jakhama hosted the ‘Dr. Johnny K. Ruangmei and Keneisevou Rio Endowment Lecture on Science and Humanity’ at its PG Conference Hall on April 23. The programme was organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Research and Development Cell (RDC).
Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Johnny K. Ruangmei, Joint Chief Executive Officer of the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), spoke on the intersection of science and humanity. Drawing from his administrative and field experience, he stated that “scientific advancement must be guided by ethical responsibility, social relevance, and compassion.”
He highlighted the role of young scholars in addressing real-world challenges through informed, humane, and sustainable approaches, and encouraged students to integrate intellectual excellence with moral integrity and a commitment to public service.
The programme began with an invocation by Dr. K. Katini, followed by a welcome address by Principal, Dr. Fr. George Keduolhou Angami. The session was compered by Dr. Hormila G. Zingkhai and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Fr. Gigi Thomas.
