Mon, July 28 (MExN): The Mon district administration on Tuesday handed over ex gratia assistance to the next of kin of eight people who lost their lives in the landslide at Thamnan Ward in Mon town on July 19.
Deputy Commissioner and District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Chairman Wennyei Konyak presented the relief to the bereaved families.
An ex gratia amount of ₹4 lakh was provided for each deceased under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) norms, officials said.
The deceased were identified as Thenkhao Konyak, Tingyuh Konyak, Taotun Konyak, Toithron Konyak, Kenlong Konyak, Lunglei L Konyak, Pangho Konyak and Pomei Konyak.
The relief was handed over in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner and DDMA Chief Executive Officer, Mon, as well as the presidents of the Konyak Union (KU) and the Konyak Students' Union (KSU).
