Kohima, October 24 (MExN): The Department of Food & Civil Supplies has informed all Fair Price Shop (FPS) operators and ration card holders about the implementation of the Integrated Aadhaar-enabled Supply Chain Management (IAeSCM) module under the Smart PDS system, in line with the Government of India’s policy.
The Department stated that under the IAeSCM module, systematic steps beginning from indent generation to the Food Corporation of India (FCI), issuance of release order by FCI, and ePoS transactions at FPS level must be performed sequentially. “As such, all the stakeholders like the Department, FCI, PDC in-charges, FPS operators, and ration card holders play a vital role to complete the flow chain of the Supply Chain Management system which functions on real-time mode,” it stated.
It added that any disruption in the sequential system adversely affects the normal flow of the supply chain.
The Department reiterated that as per the directive issued during the North East Conference held on January 30 and 31, in Guwahati, Assam, under the chairmanship of the Joint Secretary, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Department of Food and Public Distribution (DoFPD), Government of India, “manual mode of transaction have been completely stopped henceforth and transaction performed only on Online mode or Partial Offline mode through ePoS devices are accounted.”
It further clarified that the non-transacted quantity will remain as Closing Balance (CB), which will be carried forward (CF) to the subsequent month and reconciled or adjusted accordingly.
The reconciliation of the Closing Balance has been initiated from the November 2025 allocation with the Closing Balance of September 2025, and the same will be continued henceforth.
