Dimapur, September 23 (MExN): A training programme for field functionaries on the District Census Handbook (DCHB)—Village Directory and Town Directory was held at the Circuit House, Dimapur on September 23, to familiarise participants with the procedures, schedules and digital tools involved in preparing the Census Handbook.
A total of 34 field functionaries participated, comprising 32 Village Directory (Rural) functionaries and two Town Directory functionaries from the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) and East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC).
At the training, Deputy Director, Directorate of Census Operations (DCO), Vikishe Chishi, introduced the DCHB and explained the role and responsibilities of Village and Town Authorities in the census-related exercise.
Participants were trained on the DCHB Village and Town Directory schedules, including data collection procedures.
Statistical Investigator K Mahesh conducted the Village Directory session, while Junior Executive Keneilhounuo Paphino provided training on the DCHB web portal and mobile application.
Junior Executive Kuraktsang conducted an application demonstration, while Junior Executive Keneingunuo Pfuse conducted the Town Directory session.
An open-house discussion was held to address queries related to the DCHB exercise, State DIPR reported.
Earlier, the training programme commenced with opening remarks by EAC Imliwabang Aier.
The training aimed to strengthen field capacity and coordination with Village and Town Authorities for the systematic compilation of DCHB information, it added.
