Kohima, June 12 (MExN): Expressing grave concern over the non-implementation of coaching institute registration guidelines even after five months, the All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has submitted a reminder to the Chief Secretary of Nagaland.
In a reminder addressed to the Chief Secretary, the ANCSU stated that despite its appeal made through a press release dated February 12, 2026, to the Higher & Technical Education Department and district administrations, not a single coaching institute has been formally registered so far. The union noted that the guidelines were implemented over five months ago.
Terming the delay as “serious negligence,” the ANCSU questioned the effectiveness of the implementation mechanism and the commitment of authorities toward safeguarding student interests. The union strongly expressed its dissatisfaction over the “apparent inaction” of the concerned department and district administrations.
While acknowledging that administrative procedures require reasonable time, the ANCSU reiterated that it would not remain a “mute spectator” if the welfare of students and aspirants was deliberately disregarded.
The union urged the Chief Secretary to direct all district administrations to promptly process and forward duly verified applications of coaching institutes to the State Level Committee for timely registration, “to avoid any confrontation.”
The reminder was jointly signed by ANCSU President Kivika Yeptho and Assistant General Secretary Imnawabang T Lkr.
