Mokokchung, December 10 (MExN): A joint inspection of the 8.5-kilometre Foothills Road re-alignment at Wamaken Village under Mokokchung district was conducted on December 9 by representatives of Ao Senden, Langpangkong Tzukong Mungdang, the Wamaken Village Council, the Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC), PWD (R&B) Tuli Division, and the contractor.
According to a press release, during the inspection, the quality of workmanship of the road construction carried out by M/s 3S Infra was found to be “satisfactory.”
However, the Ao Senden informed in a press release that three culverts are yet to be completed out of the nine planned, due to the late withdrawal of the monsoon. In this regard, it urged the concerned authority to grant an extension of time to the contractor, stating that the delay was caused by factors beyond human control.
The inspection team also appealed to the Government of Nagaland to commence the issuance of the work order for the second phase of the Foothills Road at the earliest.
Ao Senden expressed appreciation to the PWD (R&B) Tuli Division for its constant monitoring of the project and to the Wamaken Village Council for its continued supervision and for extending assistance to the contractor, onsite workers, and staff during the course of the work.
