Dimapur, July 25 (MExN): The Department of Food & Civil Supplies (FCS) today informed the ‘Free Rice under NFSA being issued by the Department since January 2023 will continue till December.
In this connection, a circular from the Assistant Director, FCS Dimapur S Kavito Aomi has directed all the Urban & Rural Fair Price Shop under Dimapur, Niuland and Chumukedima District to issue rice free of cost till December 2023.
Failure to comply with directive will be dealt seriously as per National Food Security Act (NFSA) 2013 rules, it added.
The circular has been issued after observing that some Village Council FPS are charging some amount of money from the beneficiaries at their own will, the Assistant Director informed.
