
Dimapur, September 16 (MExN): The Nagaland Garo Tribal Council (NGTC) and Garo Students’ Union (GSU) Nagaland Zone, Dimapur in a joint meeting held on September 11 at Naharbari deliberated thoroughly upon the matter of attempted move by some vested interest group(s) to create a new village with the name Ringkhu Village in the jurisdiction of Ekranipathar village, which is viewed as a "criminal conspiracy" against the Garo Tribe in Nagaland and has condemned the move in the strongest term.
This was informed here in a press note issued by the president of NGTC Taruna Momin, general secretary of NGTC Budin Momin, president of GSU Biblap Sangma and general secretary of GSU Nathan Momin.
The note stated that the manner by which the NOC was obtained and the fabricated data of the “proposed village (Rongkgu) were submitted to the DC Dimapur for registration of the village as per the rejoinder/opposition of the joint council forum of Ekranipathar, Dubagoan village Erabill village and Hollohon Colony, Erabill dated 14th Sept 2011” in a local daily by the “inventor/ inventors of the so called Ringkhu village themselves speak about their malicious and evil intension/intensions”.
The two organizations in the note further stated: “In view of the stated facts, we humbly request the authority concerned not to attend to the matter of creation of so called Ringkhu village in the jurisdiction of the Ekranipathar
village Dimapur.”
