The second edition of the Inter-School Volleyball League 2026 concluded at the Public Ground, Wokha on August 29, with Gilgal School Wokha and Isaiah Ability Higher Secondary School emerging champions in the girls’ and boys’ categories respectively.
Organised by the Department of Youth Resources and Sports, Nagaland, in collaboration with the Wokha District Volleyball Association, the tournament was held at the Public Ground under the theme “Play with Passion, Win with Respect”.
Nine schools competed in the boys’ category and six in the girls’ category.
Gilgal School Wokha clinched the girls’ championship, with St Peter School Wokha finishing runners-up. In the boys’ category, Isaiah Ability Higher Secondary School secured the title, while St Peter School Wokha were runners-up.

Little Angels School was adjudged Best Discipline team in the boys’ category, while Santsuo School received the Best Disciplined Team award in the girls’ category.
Wokha Deputy Commissioner K Mhathung Tsanglao, who attended the closing ceremony as the special guest, urged students to give greater importance to sports as part of their co-curricular activities.
Encouraging the participants to play with dedication, discipline and respect for opponents, Tsanglao stressed the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship.
He urged students to remain actively involved in sporting activities rather than remain idle, saying consistent effort and dedication could provide opportunities to compete at higher levels and eventually represent the country.
Tsanglao conveyed his best wishes to all participating students and encouraged them to pursue sports with greater commitment.
