Supports PM’s decision to extend lockdown and appreciates ‘unwavering support’ of people in Nagaland
Kohima, April 14 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland, RN Ravi today said that he is aware that the lockdown will create a lot of humanitarian issues in the state but assured that the government remains committed to “mitigating the hardships to the people.”
The Governor said that all possible measures are being taken to mitigate the hardship, a press release from Raj Bhavan informed.
During the review meeting on the status of COVID-19 in the state at the Raj Bhavan Kohima on April 14, the Governor also expressed gratitude to the people of Nagaland for their unwavering support, prayer and cooperation in observing the nationwide lockdown, it said.
He further urged the people of Nagaland to continue to adhere to guidelines laid down the Central and State Governments, it added.
The Governor also “reassured the people of Nagaland that the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio is taking all measures to effectively tackle the COVID-19 pandemic,” the release informed.
Meanwhile, Ravi lauded the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi for his “right decision to extend the nationwide lockdown till May 3.”
“The Governor appealed all to continue maintaining social distancing and not to indulge in any activity that may endanger precious lives,” the Raj Bhavan release added.
