Govt to recruit maths & science teachers

Kohima | September 9 : Commissioner & secretary for School Education T. Imkonglemba Ao today said the government will soon issue advertisement for recruitment of maths and science teachers in the state as most of the schools are without science and maths teachers.
Speaking at the State Level Science Seminar 2011 on the topic ‘Chemistry for Human Welfare: Promises and Concerns’ at the Multi Purpose Hall of Government Higher Secondary School, Kohima, the commissioner and secretary said the government will look into the matter of shortage of science and maths teachers in the state.
In the meantime, he called upon the science teachers to be more sincere in their teaching, adding that the government will provide more facilities in order to improve the standard of science education in the state.
Imkonglemba also called upon the students to give more importance on the value of science, saying it is important for students to value, preserve and to adapt with the arts of modern technology.
Altogether, 16 students from 16 different schools from all over the state joined the competition. The panel of judges for the competition included Dr. Vineetha Kumar Pillai, Keneingu Rutsa and Er. Daniel Thong.  The programme was chaired by  direstor of School Education N. Khevito Sema.

  1. Ist Thejasenuo Kire- Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Kohima.
  2. 2nd- Kilitoli Chophy Little Flower Higher Secondary School, Kohima.
  3. 3rd: Cikumla Edith Douglas Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung.
