Greenwood, Don Bosco clinch titles at ANPSA 25th anniversary tournament

Dimapur, March 28 (MExN): The basketball tournament to mark the 25th anniversary of the All Nagaland Private School Association (ANPSA), Dimapur Unit, concluded successfully on March 27, with the closing ceremony held at Pilgrim Higher Secondary School in Dimapur.

The ceremony was attended by Director of Life Ministries (Sports & Business Mission) Colo Mero as Guest of Honour and FIBA Level 1 Coach Shah Jamanuddin Ahmed as Special Guest, who lauded the spirit of sportsmanship displayed by participants.

In the finals, Greenwood Higher Secondary School defeated Don Bosco Higher Secondary School to clinch the boys’ title, while Don Bosco Higher Secondary School emerged winners in the girls’ category, overcoming Greenwood Higher Secondary School.

 

Hyulozu Khing of Greenwood Higher Secondary School was adjudged the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the boys’ category, while Mehrin Beck of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School bagged the girls’ MVP award.

General Secretary of ANPSA Dimapur Unit, Neisavinuo, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to participants, organisers, guests and supporters. The programme concluded with a closing prayer by Noktentemjen Aier, co-convenor of the Basketball Organising Committee.

In a symbolic gesture, convenor Bithungo Kikon brought down the tournament flag and handed it over to Vidhya Bhawan Higher Secondary School, which will host the next sporting event — a badminton tournament.

The tournament highlighted ANPSA Dimapur Unit’s continued commitment to sportsmanship, community engagement and youth development over the past 25 years.
