Grenade hurled at private house in Imphal; no injury

Unidentified persons suspected to be militants lobbed and exploded a hand grenade at a house in Imphal’s Singjamei area late Friday.

 


No human casualty was reported in the blast at the house of one Ngangbam Robert at Chingamathak under Singjamei police station last night, around 10.30 pm. 

 


However, windshields of a car parked at the front courtyard of the house were damaged by the impact of the blast.
Police is yet to know the motive behind the grenade attack even though they suspect monetary demand behind the attack.

 


Denouncing the bomb attack at the thickly populated area, womenfolk of the locality staged a sit-in-protest on Saturday.

 


Placards read as “Violence never solves issues,” “We want peace,” “We condemn bomb blast,” etc. were displayed at the protest site.
