Guwahati-Alipurduar Intercity Express to resume services

Maligaon, November 14 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to resume the services of 15753 / 15754 Alipurduar Jn – Guwahati Express with effect from November 17.

This will help local short distance passengers of the route to undertake their journey comfortably, NFR CPRO Guneet Kaur stated in a press release on Sunday.

“Accordingly, train no 15753 Alipurduar  Jn – Guwahati Express will leave from Alipurduar Jn at 04-05 hrs to reach Guwahati at 11-20 hrs. During return journey train no 15754 Guwahati – Alipurduar Jn Express will leave from Guwahati at 12-40 hrs to arrive Alipurduar Jn at 21-00 hrs. The train will have stoppages at Fakiragram Jn, Salakati, Kokrajhar, Basugaon, Dangtol, New Bongaigaon, Bongaigaon, Chaprakata, Bijni, Patiladaha, Sorbhog, Barpeta Road, Guagachha, Sorupeta, Pathsala, Niz-Sariha Halt, Tihu, Kaithalkutchi, Nalbari, Ghograpar, Rangiya Jn, Kendukana, Baihata, Changsari, Agthori and Kamakhya stations during its journey both ways. Tickets can be purchased in UTS/PRS counters or through IRCTC site,” the release informed.

Meanwhile, the NFR has also introduced another narrow gauge toy train service in Darjeeling Himalayan Railway from November 13. The train named Him Kanya will run between Darjeeling and Kurseong every Saturday and Sunday.

The CPRO also informed that timings of the Steam Jungle Tea Safari running between Siliguri Jn and Rongtong have been modified. Train no 52556 will now leave from Siliguri Jn at 13-30 hrs to reach 15-00 hrs with stoppage at Sukna. During return journey this train will leave from Rongtong at 15-20 hrs to reach Siliguri Jn at 16-35 hrs, the release stated.
