Benson Town (Bengalaru), August 28 (MExN): Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu on Saturday exhorted the Naga students pursuing higher education to have clear visions. Addressing the 42nd annual freshers meet of the Naga Students’ Union Bengalaru (NSUB) at Tagore Hall, United Theological College (UTC), Benson Town, the minister pointed out that only with a clear vision, students would achieve the best and do the society proud.
To be the best, the minister impressed the students to be disciplined, punctual and be committed. ‘As future Naga leaders, you should braced up and be the best in your respective field of study,’ he opined.
The minister also reminded the students not to forget the amount of trouble their parents take back home to buy them quality education.
Aware of many students who have fallen prey to the glamour of city life and failed in their studies, he fervently appealed to the NSCB members to work hard to become assets and not liabilities to the society.
‘Whatever you achieve as a student is for your own self,’ he said and urged the students to make the most of their student life to reap the harvest in their future.
In the backdrop of Naga society going through rough times, Nienu sought the student’s community living far away from home to show the way.
‘Nagas instead of integrating have disintegrated more, as student’s cutting across all Naga tribes have come to Bengalaru to pursue higher studies, be united and project to rest of the people that we are one,’ he opined.
Zulu Sor, Ph D student at SAIACS exhorting the NSCB freshers impressed on them to remain focussed, committed to persevere. He also urged them not to forget their roots and the expectations of parents, friends and family resting on their shoulders.
Other highlights of the inaugural session include special prayer for the freshers by Rev Zhabu Yimsung, Pastor NCFB, special tunes by students of New Life Bible College and SABC. The programme was led by Watinaro Longkumer.
