Health centre at Tseipama inaugurated

Dimapur, September 30 (MExN): Tseipama new sub-centre building was inaugurated by Dr. Ditsolo Mero, Medical Superintendent on September 26.  
During the inauguration function, Dr. D. Mero highlighted the various services available in the health care delivery system at different levels. He urged the community to utilize the services available at the health centre and stressed on the importance of herbal medicines and briefed the community on AYUSH programme. He expressed hope that the community will promote herbal and locally available medicinal plant.
Dr. Ritu Thurr, Dy CMO spoke on maternal and child health besides other national health programmes. He said that to improve the health of the people, it was necessary to first improve the health of the mothers and children and reduce maternal and infant mortality rate and thus, the Government of India has introduced JSY scheme and ASHAs in the villages to escort and assist the mother and child to the health centre. He requested the community to actively participate and support the health centre staff in all health activities in the village and also urged the community leaders to assist in maintenance and management of the health centre.
Dr. Victor, MO Medziphema CHC lauded the community for their participation and contributions towards the construction of the new building. He stated that with the inception of Communitization in our State, the Government had handed over the responsibilities of management to the community; therefore it was necessary for the community to actively participate for the smooth and efficient function of the health care delivery system.
Earlier, the function was chaired by Dr. Kapfo, Mo i/c PHC Pherima and the dedication prayer was led by Rev. Zhadi-u. Lampao, Pharmacist and Secretary VHC gave a brief report on Tseipama SC and vote of thanks was delivered by Vikoneizo, VC Chairman, Tseipama village.
