Continuing the fight against the menace of drugs, South West Garo Hills Police Naka team of Monabari outpost recovered 11 grams of heroin worth Rs 2.36 lakh on Saturday evening.
According to police, based on information from a credible source, police apprehended two persons who have been identified as Chebat B Sangma, s/o Sengchong Ch. Marak of Dakopgre, Tura and Dechangra D Sangma, s/o Beckerson D. Sangma of Ampati Songma in South West Garo Hills of Meghalaya. Police recovered from their possession 11 gms of substance suspected to be heroin worth Rs. 2,36,093 and also seized from them one X-pulse motorbike, two mobile phones, ID cards and cash of Rs. 900.
A case under NDPS Act has been registered in this connection and investigation is on, the police added.
