Piphema, March 11 (MExN): Modern College, Piphema hosted the Academic and Administrative Audit (AAA) peer team visit on March 10 as part of the quality assurance initiative of the Directorate of Higher Education, Nagaland.
The visit aimed to review the college’s academic performance, administrative practices, institutional governance and overall functioning.
The audit team was led by Lily Sema, retired Director of Higher Education, as convenor, and included Elizabeth Walling, Principal of SCTE, and Fr George Kedulhou, Principal of St Joseph’s College (Autonomous).
The programme began with the principal’s presentation and interaction highlighting the institution’s vision, academic achievements, infrastructure development, student support services and future plans. This was followed by an interaction with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and departmental presentations on academic activities, research initiatives and progress.
The peer team also interacted with leaders of the Modern College Students’ Union (MCSU) and students during classroom visits, besides holding discussions with members of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and alumni.
The team visited key sections of the college including the administrative office, accounts section, library, various clubs and committees and the MCSU office. They also inspected campus facilities such as the botanical garden, dairy farm, stone crushing unit, basketball and volleyball courts, indoor stadium, canteen, men’s and women’s hostels and the football ground.
The visit concluded with an exit meeting where the peer team shared observations and offered suggestions to strengthen academic excellence, institutional governance and student development.
The college administration, faculty, staff and students expressed gratitude to the visiting members and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to continuous quality enhancement and holistic education.
