Dimapur, July 1 (MExN): The police personnel manning the check post at NH 29, Peducha (Kiruphema Town) seized a huge amount of liquor from two trucks. The first truck AS-23AC-1114 was seized on June 25, while the other truck MN-03T-0043 was being seized on June 27. These incidents were highly applauded by the Kiruphema Youth Organisation and hence, extended its full co-operation to the police in the prohibition of liquor to the land.
In a press release Neicasato Visienyü, President KYO, requested the authority to award the personnel who give their best in saving people from the clutches of liquor. The KYO further, requested the policemen manning the gates to strictly check the passage of liquor to the state and not to be cowed down by any threats or bribes. The organisation also stated that, liquor enters the state mainly through the check gates due to the insincerity of the police who are entrusted with the job and that, failure to enforce “dry state” in the land is due to the incompetence of the concerned department and the State Government.
