Dimapur, August 7 (MExN): ‘Deputy kilonser’ of Natural Resources cum Finance Secretary Federal Government of Nagaland, V. Phutoi Zhimomi has claimed that he had never threatened DDO of the Medical Directorate. “It is therefore absurd on the part of the Police department to put up his name in the wanted list for a crime he is totally innocent of.”
In a press note received here today, the ‘deputy kilonser’ stated: “…I was extremely shocked to read the Wanted Notice against me in connection with the North PS Case No. 0036/11 U/S 506/447/384 IPC R/W 7/8 NRS’ 62. (Medical Directorate Intimidation Case).”
Concerning the issue, he claimed in the note that he does not know DDO of the Medical Directorate in person or even talked to him in "his life". “I have never even talked to him through the phone even once. Those facts may be confirmed by the Police, they make enquiries with the concerned D.D.O. The question therefore is how I could have given an order to intimidate or threaten his life when I have never known him,” he added.
He also mentioned in the note that as a legally appointed finance secretary of the Federal Government of Nagaland, he discharges his duties in requesting financial assistance from various departments and even individuals, well wishers for the “national cause”. In discharging these duties, he always gives authorization letters to the bearer of the request notes. Also in conformity with the Federal Government directives, no threats or intimidation means have ever been resorted to by his department at any time.
