Agartala, February 28 (MExN): ICARIA, a brand Techno-Cultural Festival of ICFAI University Tripura, was successfully held from February 25-27.
The 3-day festival was inaugurated with the Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura Jishnu Dev Varma as the Chief Guest; Brishaketu Debbarma, MLA Simna Constituency, as Special Guest; and Biswabrata Sinha, Managing Director of Tripura Natural Gas Company Limited as Guest of Honour.
In his welcome address, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Biplab Haldar gave a detailed idea about the ICARIA event to the gathering, informed a press release from the institute.
The chief guest in his address espoused the three things needed for Nation Building based on the ideology of Swamiji - to feel proud for the past, pain for the present and dreaming for the future, it said.
He said that the classroom is the place to acquire moral knowledge from where one can increase self-knowledge and wisdom, it added.
MLA Debbarma emphasized on establishing more facilities in the state to ensure easy use of modern technology while Sinha advised the students to acquire knowledge for the purpose as well as wisdom so that they can become more self-reliant.
The main attraction of this 3-day festival was the inauguration & cultural night, celebrity night, DJ night etc, the release said.
The techno-cultural programme embraced with Solo Song & Dance, Yoga for Life, Battle of Bands, Face painting, Nail Art, Mehendi Art, Rongoli making, Hair Make Up, T-Shirt Designing, Tattoo Designing, Collage making, Videography, Photography, Origami, Go as you Like, Build it high, Best out of Waste, Treasure Hunt and fashion show.
The carnival is “totally of the student for the student” event and students from various School, Colleges and Universities from Tripura and other states participated in various cultural & technological competitions, it added.
