Dimapur, April 14 (MExN): The Nagaland Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Minister, S Pangnyu Phom today said that the “ICU with Ventilators & Cardiac Monitor” in COVID-19 Hospital Dimapur is “in place.”

Reacting to onslaught of criticisms regarding the state’s preparedness to combat the disease after a patient from Dimapur tested for positive in Guwahati on April 12, Pangnyu said that  the Medical and line departments are doing their best.

 

Taking to twitter to highlight “the reality of COVID19 Hospital,” the minister further claimed that cabins and isolation ward “are in good condition and ready to admit any patient.”  

 

“Together we will fight this invisible enemy,” he added.  

 

Meanwhile, a group of health workers from the hospital, reacting to news report, in a statement said that there is adequate number of masks, personal protective equipments (PPE) in the vicinity and altogether 69 beds are ready at the hospital.

 

All required medical back up required to tackle the present crisis are in place, it said. Only water drilling, blacktopping of compound and installation of a transformer are “remaining developmental work in progress,” it added.  

 

 Stating that they war working on “war footing” to fight against the pandemic, the frontline workers appealed the citizen not to “jump to conclusion in pointing fingers.”
