Dimapur, July 12 (MExN): Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav on Sunday urged the youth to preserve their cultural heritage while embracing innovation, entrepreneurship and responsible leadership, saying they are the custodians of the state's heritage and the architects of its future.

Addressing the Youth Conclave-cum-Cultural Fest 2026 at the Town Hall in Dimapur as the chief guest, the Governor said young people should equip themselves with knowledge, skills and an entrepreneurial mindset, and strive not only to seek opportunities but also to create them for the benefit of society.

The event was organised by the Linguistic Minority Forum of Nagaland.

Appreciating the organisers, Yadav described the conclave as a meaningful platform that celebrates the state's rich cultural diversity and promotes harmony among different communities.

He said Dimapur, the gateway to Nagaland, has emerged as a vibrant confluence of cultures, languages and traditions, where diversity continues to strengthen the social fabric.

The Governor congratulated the Linguistic Minority Forum of Nagaland for bringing together various non-Naga communities residing in the state and acknowledged their contributions to Nagaland's economy, education and social harmony. Such collective efforts, he said, reinforce the spirit of unity and peaceful coexistence.

Emphasising the importance of unity, Yadav said identity should serve as a force that unites rather than divides. He called upon people from all communities to work together with empathy, innovation and mutual respect, adding that the progress of Dimapur and Nagaland depends on the collective efforts of all citizens, irrespective of language or community.

Expressing hope that the conclave would strengthen friendships, inspire fresh ideas and motivate young people to contribute meaningfully to society, the Governor congratulated the organisers, awardees and participants.

Drawing a parallel with a rainbow, he said just as it derives its beauty from its many colours, Dimapur shines because of its diversity, and urged people to celebrate differences, strengthen unity and work together for a brighter future.
