30th January 2011 is being observed as INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE, the day when the Father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated. On this day, as Indians, we must pledge to spread peace & harmony in our surroundings, society, nation and in the world.
It has been noticed that these days people are becoming more violent and instead of bring peace-makers; they turn to be destroyers of peace and harmony and are spreading hatred among the people. This is seen even in families where violent fights within the family for property, wealth are dividing and breaking the family bonds thus creating a chaos and family break-ups. The same hatred is later passed in the society and thus this seeds of hatred and disharmony is sown in the hearts of people that becomes violent for any petty issue like playful fights of children are responded by the elders of the family, thus assassinating the peace and harmony by messengers of hatred.
Of late we have also seen how political parties, in the fight for unholy power, are fighting among each other, thus destroying peace in the city, State and in the country. This also has given wings to various kinds of terrorism like civil terrorism, political terrorism, religious terrorism etc. There is a need for all Indians to arise and help in promoting peace and harmony in the country and stand against those messengers of disharmony and hatred who are dividing the country with their selfish and negative ways. Lets work to build an united nation through peaceful ways and strengthen our country to turn our country into a peaceful country. On this INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE, let us pledge to pay homage to the Father of the Nation the person who promoted Peace and promise to work to mark our country into a peace-loving country.
