Dimapur, September 9 (MExN): The Jalukielo (Extension) Village held a general meeting on September 8 and seriously deliberated on cold blooded murder of its member late Lohrü Pou on September 2 without any rhyme or reason, while he was on his way to his field.
A press note issued by acting chairman of Jalukielo (Extension) Village, Peren, Dr Pfuneisa Rüpreo stated that it is clear that Lohrü was “shot death at the point blind” and subsequently his body was cut using a dao (machete). The barbaric act of perpetrators is inhuman and direct challenge to peace and tranquility in the locality.”
The note stated that the house condemns the incident at highest term and urges the government authority to probe the incident and accordingly arrest all the culprits and award severe punishment as per the law of the land.
"Hence, the village is a government recognized village and having a clear demarcation, therefore deliberately slaughter the precious life can never be justified and decided struggle till the justice is delivered."
Further the house decided to join the Tenyimi Union Jalukie to press the state government to grant ex-gratia to next of kin of the victim, the press note stated.

MUJ flays ‘merciless killing’
DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 9 (MExN): The Mao Union Jalukie (MUJ) expressed profound shock and outrage over what it termed as the "merciless killing" of late Lohrii Pou on September 2.
The union has condemned the" inhuman act in the strongest term" by saying that it was an "act of barbarism". Therefore, the union has urged the administration to bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice. This was stated in a press note issued by president of MUJ Adaso.
Further, the MUJ conveyed its deepest sympathy to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
