Dimapur, July 22 (MExN): The Women Society of Kirha Village, Airport Road, 3 ½ Mile, Dimapur has condemned the rape and brutal murder of Avino on July 21 inside her room.
Expressing resentment over the incident, the society in a condemnation note issued by its chairman Mesele Kikhi and society Arinü Rhetso stated that this type of heinous crime is condemnable by all in the society which is intolerable for the public, especially for women.
“…we strongly condemn the barbaric act. If, such inhuman acts can happen in our society then there shall be no place on earth to shelter ourselves from the evil doers,” it added.
The society has appealed the law and order enforcement authority to take prompt action and arrest the “culprit(s) and punish him/them at the earliest before the situation becomes worse from bad”.
Kirha Village Council: The Kirha Village Council expressed shock and resentment over the rape and murder of a Naga girl on the dreadful night of July 21 at her home. The Village council strongly condemns and appeals to the general public to condemn the inhuman act meted out to the innocent girl. KVC expressed heartfelt gratitude to the various organisations for their support and solidarity to the bereaved family. The village authority strongly appeals to the concern authority to bring the culprit(s) to justice.
Youngs’ Club Dimapur: The Youngs’ Club Dimapur has strongly condemned the heinous crime meted out on a Naga girl of Kirha Village at Dimapur. The Club in a note strongly condemned this inhuman and barbaric act and strongly appealed to the district administration and police to investigate the matter and deliver justice at the earliest. YCD also extended support to the Chakroma Women Organisation to fight till justice is delivered and also appeal to all Naga youths to come forward and fight against the rape. The Club further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and pray that Almighty God will grant solace and comfort to them.
