Dimapur, July 1 (MExN): One Hemato Shohe of Rotomi village has murdered a resident of Rengma Gaon of Bor-lingri in Assam on the night of June 17 last, according to a press note received here today.
The victim has been identified as Sukhu Rengma who is a member of the Kandi-nu Union Dimapur. The Union in the note appended by its president RK Rengma has strongly condemned the murder stating that such gruesome act is an abomination in the Naga way of life.
The Union advises all not to interfere in the matter but to let the law take its own course. It further appeals to the Khatkhati police, Karbi Anglong, Assam to make sure that all evidences are taken care of, including the past antecedents of the accused so that bail to the accused is denied in the interest of the larger society.
The accused is an adult with a violent history and it is to everyone’s interest that he is set behind bars for the rest of his life, the Union further added.
