Kezoltsa Deadlock: Christian leaders appeal for ‘grace of sanity’

DIMAPUR, MARCH 8 (MExN): In the wake of the conflict arising out of the dispute at Kezoltsa, a group of Christian leaders have appealed for grace of sanity among the disputing parties.

The 13 signatories, all Reverends, in its appeal felt that “one of the distressing concerns of our people right now is the sensitive Kezol-Tsa deadlock situation involving some of our Tenyimia tribes.”

“At this juncture of the Naga crisis, we are being fragmented by unhealed differences and conflicts from the past known to all of us. We are deeply pained that some members of our family are caught up in the matrix of the Kezol-Tsa crisis,” it stated.

“Prompted by a sense of serious urgency that we believe is felt by all: we the undersigned humbly call for space of sanity in all of us to prevail, rising above our adversarial positions that are understandable in such conflicts,” the note of appeal read. This would enable God to intervene and lead us to the steps for finding an honourable settlement for all that would glorify God in the end, it said.

“Our appeal comes from our concern for what tomorrow’s generation will inherit from us. Will they rise and call us blessed?” it questioned. The signatories include Rev Dr Chekrovei Cho-o, Rev Dr Vevo Phesao, Rev Dr Visor H. Zeliang, Rev Fr Vemedo Kezo, Rev Dr Rachiilie Vihienuo,  Rev Zakiebeinyii Peseyie, Rev Visakuolie Chiisi, Rev David Koza, Rev Haiwalo Apon, Rev Vevozo Khamo, Rev ZhabuTerhiija, Rev Fr Dr Solomon Vizo and Rev Rathvu Pochury.
