DIMAPUR, JULY 18 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN has stated that SS Khaplang has isolated himself from the common vision and that the “expelled Chairman had unilaterally divided the Naga homeland physically and emotionally, threading the path of occupational forces by creating various administrative units such as Eastern sector, Manipur sector, western sector, Arunachal sector etc. in contravention to the National Yehzabo.
“If the right of the Naga people and their homeland was to be defended in India-held Naga territory or Burma occupied Naga homeland, the NSCN ship had to be fitted with a new sail to reach its destination”, stated a press note issued by the MIP while adding that the “Kilonsers and supervisors appointed by Khaplang in these sectors did more harm than good to NSCN’s image”.
It was disclosed that “without consulting General Secretary N. Kitovi Zhimomi or Commander-in-Chief Gen Khole Konyak (Now his Excellency, the Chairman NSCN), for the first time, Khaplang jumped into the Burmese election which held little promise to the Naga people” pointing out that this “inexplicable policy no doubt revealed Khaplang’s true motive”.
The MIP note from the GPRN/NSCN also stated that the “greatest treachery of S.S Khaplang, however, was his desire to prop up the Indo-Burma Revolutionary Front (IBRF), which simply conveys the idea that all revolutionary groups in the NE will seek one political solution, in other words, Naga political problem will be equated with social problems of the NE”. “How can a tiger be forced to turn into a cat? This is Khaplang’s blueprint for IBRF”, it stated. “NSCN will extend revolutionary solidarity to all struggling peoples however to sell out the 60 year Naga political right to satisfy neighbours fighting against social and economic grievances will not serve the purpose of the Naga people”.
GPRN/NSCN made it clear that Chairman Gen. Khole Konyak and Gen. Secretary N. Kitovi Zhimomi tried their best to prevail upon S.S Khaplang to hold on the common dream of the Naga people yet S.S Khaplang had walked too far chasing his own personal dream. “It is not the Nagas who left Khaplang, he isolated himself from the national goal of the Nagas. He identified himself as a man unwilling to walk the path chosen by the forefathers”, the MIP note stated while adding that the “Naga people’s aspiration is unchanged today as it was sixty years ago”.
“Thousands of pages have been written detailing the sordid saga of blood, tears guts and glory against the forceful division and occupation of the Naga homeland by aggressors. Millions of Naga hearts continue to beat as one when it comes to the Naga history and political right. The crux of the problem is the insatiable urge for power and position that drives individuals to political insanity and this problem unfortunately persists and haunts the Naga people even in recent times”.
The MIP went on to state that “neither impeached and expelled chairman S.S Khaplang nor some of his followers in Nagaland seems to have realised the fact that Naga people cannot be easily convinced by the somersaulting press releases that seems to have run out of decent words”. “Character assassination appears to be their sole motive in their press releases”, the MIP note stated adding that the GPRN/NSCN will not indulge in mud-slinging activity against any individual or group “yet a correct political stand of the Nagas shall be upheld and defended” pointing out that “Nagas have the right to know the truth”.
