Dimapur, September 29 (MExN): The Kikrüma Students’ Union (KSU), an affiliated unit of the Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU), has reaffirmed its solidarity with the CSU over the ongoing matter concerning the NH-29 Two-Lane Kohima–Jessami Road Project, Package-II.
A press release from the KSU said it has “consistently stood with the CSU and its collective decisions concerning matters affecting the welfare and interests of the people.” “We reaffirm that position and state unequivocally that the KSU continues to stand with the decisions already taken by the CSU and with any further decisions and course of action duly adopted by the Union in this matter,” it stated.
The KSU said its position was rooted in its organisational affiliation and the collective responsibility of an affiliated unit to uphold and support decisions of the parent union. “Accordingly, the KSU remains committed to extending its cooperation and solidarity to the CSU in accordance with its decision and directives,” it added.
The students’ union also clarified that any independent action or decision taken by other individuals, groups or institutions should not be interpreted as a withdrawal of its support for the CSU. “The KSU therefore reaffirms its continued solidarity with the Chakhesang Students’ Union and its legitimate course of action concerning the matter,” the statement said, while adding that it remained committed to “maintaining dignity, discipline, and mutual respect among all concerned institutions and stakeholders.”
