Kiphire, April 18 (MExN): A monsoon preparedness meeting was held on April 16 at the DPDB hall, Kiphire, with all heads of departments directed to assess ground readiness ahead of the rainy season.
Deputy Commissioner Temsuwati Longkumer asked departments to review the status of essential supplies and infrastructure, including advance ration stocks for cut-off areas, availability of medicines, drinking water supply, and power backup systems.
PWD and National Highway authorities were directed to ensure roads remain functional and to address potential blockades before the onset of monsoon. Agriculture and allied departments were asked to ensure availability of paddy seeds for farmers.
Officials were also instructed to submit updates on preparedness measures within their respective sectors.
