Kohima, September 25 (MExN): The Skill Development Committee of Kohima College organised a panel discussion on "Entrepreneurship Skills & Business Strategies" at the college campus here on Friday, bringing together entrepreneurs and creators from Nagaland to share their experiences with students.

The programme was hosted by Deuyihangle, a fifth-semester student of the Department of Sociology, and Mhalezolie Kuotsu, a third-semester student of the Department of Political Science.
The programme began with a welcome address by Dr Konei Nakhro, Convenor of the Skill Development Cell.
Principal Vitsosie Vupru, in his address, emphasised the importance of becoming successful while contributing to society and advised students to draw inspiration from the Viksit Bharat initiative.
During the discussion, one of the panellists shared his experience of working with farmers, describing the journey as "not easy, but interesting". He said it had been a matter of survival and that the COVID-19 pandemic turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it prompted him to return to his roots.
The panellists highlighted the importance of employing Naga youth and equipping them with skills to become professionals. They said entrepreneurship was fundamentally about creativity and the ability to identify value in something that others might not recognise.
They identified humility, accepting feedback, consistently building skills, discipline and a willingness to learn as important attributes for entrepreneurial success.
The panellists also stressed the importance of skilling and having clarity in life, saying that being clear about one's goals helps build the foundation for making the best use of opportunities.
An interactive session following the panel discussion focused on the growing significance of social media marketing. Agriculture was also highlighted as a promising area for products and entrepreneurship in Nagaland.
Students were encouraged to view experience as an asset and recognise the importance of networking in creating entrepreneurial opportunities.
The event provided students with insights into the realities of entrepreneurship, the importance of skilling and the mindset required to pursue business ventures.
