
Kohima, October 6 (MExN): The Kohima Lotha Hoho (KLH) is all set to organize a cultural exchange programme (A lead-in to 50 years of KLH) on October 8 at RCEMPA, Jotsoma under the theme “Integrating cultures for common good.”
Mhathung Yanthan, Advisor Agriculture will be the host of the event and MLAs Y. Mhonbemo Humtsoe and Achumbemo Kikon as co-host. Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, Advisor School Education & SCERT will be the “Honoured Guest.”
The event will witness participants from Kohima based tribal bodies.
Inviting the Kohima based tribal bodies to the event, KLH in its prologue, stated “Let us endeavour and blend our diverse cultural identities by learning and admiring each other’s unique heritage. Build an effective and transparent communication exposed to different perceptions, initiate dialogues among each other to understand our diversities and broaden our horizon.”
KLH encourages social inter-relation through exchange of ideas, feelings, stories, customs for fostering empathy and concern amongst us. “Let us cultivate a sense of open mindedness and a genuine willingness to learn from one another, create mutual respect and understanding. Let us recognize and value the distinct contribution of various communities and make a pledge to build bridges, shepherding a future for posterity to live in harmony as one,” it added.
As a prelude to the 50 years of Kohima Lotha Hoho, KLH pay tribute to all the pioneering citizens of the capital and sincerely pray and hope that this occasion will recreate the mosaic dynamism of our ancestral traditional cultural heritage. “Let us strive to build a society beyond the realm of our respective communities and grow together united by our shared humanity and make our diverse culture our strength,” KLH stated.
During Session-1 from 10:00 AM onwards, welcome address will be delivered by K. N. Mhonthung Lotha, chairman Kohima Lotha Hoho. Greetings will be shared by Er. Mhondamo Ovung, Chairman Lotha Hoho, Thejao Vihienuo, president Angami Public Organisation and Dr. Thanghoi Lam, president Khiamniungan Union Kohima. Keynote address will be delivered by Mhathung Yanthan, Advisor Agriculture, Government of Nagaland. MLAs Y. Mhonbemo Humtsoe and Achumbemo Kikon will also speak on the occasion. Solidarity message will be delivered Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, Advisor, School Education & SCERT.
The programme will be followed by Session-II (Cultural Regale).
