Kohima Lotha Hoho unites tribal bodies with cultural exchange prog

The Kohima Lotha Hoho (KLH) brought the Kohima based tribal bodies together through a cultural exchange programme under the theme “Integrating cultures for common good” at RCEMPA, Jotsoma near Kohima on October 8.

This event is a prelude to the golden jubilee celebration of the KLH, scheduled in the first week of November 2025.

Through this event, the KLH stressed on the need cultivate a sense of open mindedness and a genuine willingness to learn from one another, create mutual respect and understanding.

Let us recognize and value the distinct contribution of various communities and make a pledge to build bridges, shepherding a future for posterity to live in harmony as one,” KLH stated.

The KLH also challenged the tribal bodies “to strive to build a society beyond the realm of our respective communities and grow together united by our shared humanity and make our diverse culture our strength.”

Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, Advisor, School Education & SCERT, Mhathung Yanthan, Advisor Agriculture, MLAs Y. Mhonbemo Humtsoe and Achumbemo Kikon including Er. Mhondamo Ovung, Chairman Lotha Hoho, Thejao Vihienuo, president Angami Public Organisation and Dr. Thanghoi Lam,  president Khiamniungan Union Kohima, addressed the gathering during session- .

The cultural regale witnessed performances like; Nsuka Khen (Lotha Yachummaro Cultural Troupe (Lotha),  Nohilie (Ayikhurhe Ngouri & Loila Ngouri (Pochury),  Amen Khen (Kohima Aor Telongjem (Ao), That’s my King (T. Lushian Lam (solo) (Khiamniungan), Voices of the Hill (Litingse & Co (Sangtam), Lomi Aghacho Toi (Vipito V Swu (Sumi), Tati Pfhe ( Ho We Ho Kro Jotsoma (Angami), Taimiphu Shin Pokliu (Thikir Sisters (Thikir), Nehi Mozho Hanu Diyole (Vekutalu & Co (Chakhesang), Identity of the Nagas (Lotha), Spelling of Cotton ( Kasha Daho (Rengma), Saramati Awung (Benrii Mahsam (Trio) (Yimkhiung), Folk Song  (Mao Women Union Kohima (Mao),  Gorkha Traditional Dance (Maya Gurung & Friends (Gorkha), Aoleang Hah ( Phangmei & Group (Konyak), Ahowee (Rim Serlang Cultural Troupe Achik (Garo), Poumai Folk song (Kapazii James Lah & Co (Poumai) and My prayer for you (Rhondeno Erui (Lotha).

Yentsso Von, Neilaii Taphrii, Tumchobeni Tsopoe, Thunoniilu and Mhasenro Shitio also performed during session 1.

Rev. Fr. Mhabemo Humtsoe, Parish Priest, SFS Kohima and Lujeka Assumi, Associate Pastor, SBCK prayed for the programme.

Khyojano TCK and Thungashan Ngullie compered the programme. Welcome address was delivered by KLH chairman K. N. Mhonthung Lotha while KLH treasurer Jonas Yanthan proposed vote of thanks.
