The inspection team comprised officials from the district administration, Kohima Police, Food and Civil Supplies Department, Kohima Municipal Council and Legal Metrology.

During the inspection, all LPG distribution agencies were found to be adhering strictly to the latest guidelines issued by the Food and Civil Supplies Department. No instances of hoarding, black-marketing or overpricing were detected at any of the outlets. Officials also reported that the supply of LPG in the district remains normal and adequate.

Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, B Henok Buchem (NCS), appealed to the public to remain calm and not be influenced by unverified or misleading information. He urged citizens to refrain from spreading rumours. The administration further stated that any instances of malpractice by distributors or hoarding by individuals should be reported to the nearest police station or the district administration for necessary action. In a separate order, the DC has directed all LPG distributor agencies in Kohima district to submit detailed and periodic records of commercial LPG cylinder sales and supplies, including those made to medical and educational institutions.  At the same time, it has also instructed the distributors to supply commercial LPG cylinders to hotels, restaurants, and other establishments only upon production of a valid authorization issued by the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
