Dimapur, July 2 (MExN): The Kohima police administration clarifies on a raid to arrest the “suspected person” involved in the June 30 blast in Dimapur that left one dead and clarification that was sought regarding the action of Police in Kohima. “Following the bomb blast incident in Dimapur on 30/06/2011 reliable information was received that one of the suspected person who is reportedly involved in the explosion was staying in Kohima town. Accordingly, under the provision of Section 41 & 47 of Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), Kohima Police conducted search in some suspected houses within the town area to arrest the suspected person. The search was led by Police station officers and personnel and not as reported,” stated a note from the office of the Kohima Superintendent of Police. Under the sections of law provided, Police is empowered to conduct search and arrest any suspect who is likely to be involved in criminal activities, the police reminded.
