Kohima, May 28 (MExN): Kohima Police on May 28 said it had recovered 29 lost and stolen mobile phones over the past one and a half months as part of its sustained efforts to trace missing devices and strengthen community policing.
According to a statement issued by the PRO of Kohima Police, 17 of the recovered mobile phones, estimated to be worth around Rs 3 lakh, were handed over to their rightful owners at the South Police Station on May 28.
With the latest recovery, Kohima Police has successfully recovered and returned a total of 36 mobile phones to citizens in recent months, the statement said.

The police said the recoveries were made possible through persistent technical tracking, field verification and coordinated investigative efforts undertaken by police personnel.
Reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding public property, Kohima Police urged citizens to promptly report cases of lost or stolen mobile phones to the nearest police station to facilitate timely tracing and recovery.
The statement added that efforts were continuing to trace and recover the remaining reported lost or stolen handsets and that police were actively pursuing all available leads.
