Kohima, July 2 (MExN): The District Committee on Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) on July 2 reviewed the progress of the EMRS projects at Chiechama and Botsa, with Deputy Commissioner B Henok Buchem directing all concerned departments to work in close coordination for their timely completion.
The meeting, chaired by Buchem at the Deputy Commissioner's Office in Kohima, was convened in accordance with directives of the National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
Representatives from the district administration, police, line departments and the Tribal Affairs Department attended the meeting.
The committee reviewed key infrastructure requirements for the Chiechama project, including construction of the two-kilometre approach road from the highway, power connectivity and piped water supply.
For the Botsa project, members discussed water connectivity and assessed the overall progress of the school.
According to the review, the Chiechama EMRS has achieved 62.3 per cent physical progress, while the Botsa project has reached 21.47 per cent completion.
Both projects are scheduled to be completed by 2027.
The deputy commissioner urged all concerned departments to ensure close coordination so that the projects are completed on schedule and students can benefit from the facilities at the earliest.
